“Living With Confidence in a Chaotic World”, What on earth should we do now?, By Dr David Jeremiah, is broken down in a very useful way. The Introduction: Knowin the Signs, is just what you need to help you understand what is wrong and why. I was intreged by the titles of the chapters, 1-Stay Clam, 2-Stay Compassionate, 3-Stay Constuctive, 4-Stay Challenged, 5-Stay Connected, 6-Stay Centered, 7-Stay Cofident, 8-Stay Consistent, 9-Stay Committed, and 10-Stay Convinced. Each chapter uses the title as the thesis, growing and expanding on the title to help the readed to grasp the true meaning of what is being said. Yes, you can get a thought about each chapter from the title, but you have to read and dig, listen, and grasp what the author really wants for you to understand about each statement.

I feel some of the information is very laborious to read, some having to be read more than once to get the full meaning. This is not a quick read, even if it is only 235 pages; it is an educational book, a real thinker.

“Beautiful Mess”, The Story of Diamond Rio, By Diamond Rio with Tom Roland, is an insight in the guys of Diamond Rio before they were Diamond Rio, how most of them have roots to Opryland and the Grand Ole Opry. The book continues with a road map of the country group’s life including their ups and downs on the road and in their home lives. Then a nice little morph into what they are now; not going to let the cat out of the bag.

“Beautiful Mess” opens the reader up to the lives of the members of Diamond Rio, they not only let you know what was great and exciting but also what was what they thought was the end. The guys of Diamond Rio make beautiful music and there is a lot of harmony in the lives they share. This book lets you see these guys are real yet they are not selfish, they try to live a Christ like life and are great witnesses to how it can happen if you believe. The book is written where a person knowing little about Diamond Rio will enjoy it right along with a true fan. A true fan will be able to hear the guys saying what they have written; your write like you speak.  I feel this is one of the better autobiographies I have read in some time, but then I am a fan on these guys and can hardly wait to hear the new CD. OOPS! That darn cat almost got out. I have already recommended this book to several of my friends and I plan on passing it to my Mom as soon as I finish this.

Fearless by Max Lucado, is a very inspirational book. It opens you up to a new thought on your reactions to your fears. Everyone has fear, it is how a person responds to the fear that make the person. Fearless, helps to teach you to not to focus on the FEAR but on the Comforter.

I really enjoy reading all of Max Lucado’s books he has a unique way with words, but Fearless is an exceptional book. Fearless opened up a new way of looking at fear, and how to keep the eye on the Comforter. Fear can cause a person to freeze-up, but this book really gives you a insight on focusing on God to see you through your fear and not freezing a just thinking about FEAR.

I have recommend this book to several friends already and will continue to do so. I recommend you read this book, wither you are a friend are dealing with fear.

The Expanded Bible (New Testament), by Thomas Nelson, is a Study Bible, in the true meaning of Study, but without the extra work. This Bible has a twist, like the Amplified Bible, the extra study material is just bracketed after the text, which is in a bold type. It differs for the Amplified in that it is a New Century Version of the Bible with the study materials.  The well made hardback will last for many years.

This Bible is very informative, quite a lot of useful information. The font is very easy to read and the main part of the verse being bold makes it easier to skip over the extra information. I will use this Bible in my Sunday School calls and also with my Youth Group at Church, the added text will be helpful with the young new believers. The Bible is a wonderful tool for a non-believer or a new Christian needing wanting more knowledge, but I feel it lacks something for someone with more than a basic knowledge.

Well, summer is over and school has started. Cry Surprised

Wow what a summer, where did it go? Surprised

We have some changes to tell you about, Youth now meets on Sunday at 6:30 in the FLC. We have a new leader group, Ken and Kathy Ogden are now the Youth Pastors. We are making plans to redo the room, come up with a name, print t-shirts, and talking about youth convention already. Ken asked for a bible verse to discribe the youth group. He has also asked for the group to come up with a formate for the meetings.

We are planning to go to the gospel singing at Tuskahoma on Sept 6 to see "Building 429."

Ken and Kathy are also working to get a youth band started for the church.

If you want to be a part of alll of these new and exciting happings at VAG with the Youth come see us on Sunday night at 6:30 in the FLC.

Wow, what a week!  Cry

I wish the last week of school had been a lot less eventful, a bad wreck and a terribly tragic accident in two days. I do not know about ya'll but I spent a lot of time in pray last week. I know there are still a lot of prayer needs out there and I hope they do not slip our minds. I know Lela McGee is still not doing well, and of let us not forgot Colby and Debra McGee. They have a long hard road ahead, but with prayer and the Lords guidance they will go on.

I have not heard any more from Kendall Chapman, I have texted a few people today but have not got a reply. I hope he is still doing well and is at home. If someone knows let me know so I can blog it!

We also need to pray for Sloan Whiteley, last I heard he was still in the hospital. Let us pray he is touched by God's loving merciful hand and shown The Way, The Truth, and The Life. (Jesus Christ)

We are leaving at noon Saturday for the Casting Crowns Concert/Rangers Game, I am pumped to get to see Casting Crowns.

We did not have a lesson this week with all the tragedies, we just focused on prayer and talking through them.

More to Come!   Tongue out

Sorry for the delay on getting a new blog up I have been kinda busy.

I have updated the pictures on our website www.thespirit.ws

I created a Photobucket account to upload our pictures to, and I can create slideshows so the pictures change/rotate. Now the same people will not have their pictures up on the site all the time. (More fair to everyone!)

I will be doing a lesson blog in a few days.

Check out the pictures at http://s570.photobucket.com/albums/ss142/vagyouth/
